Selling on Vinted without a printer: your options

You can sell on Vinted without a printer. You just need to know which postage options don't need one, and set up your account accordingly.

A label to print, or a code to show

When an item sells, Vinted gives you what you need to send it. Depending on the carrier the buyer chose, that's either a PDF label to print and stick on, or a code — a QR code or a number — to show at the drop-off point or scan at a locker. In the second case you print nothing: the label is produced on the spot.

At the time of writing, InPost lockers are the best-known example, and several parcel-shop networks can print the label in store from your QR code. The list changes: the order screen is what counts. If it shows a QR code, there's nothing to print.

Only offer printer-free postage

The buyer picks the carrier, but only from the ones YOU offer. In your account settings, under postage options, you can switch off the carriers that force you to print. Fewer choices for the buyer, but never a label to print again.

When you do have to print

• At the parcel shop or corner shop: many will print a page for a few pence — ask before you go;
• At the library, at work, at a neighbour's: the label is just a PDF, email it to yourself;
• At a print shop: one black-and-white page is all you need, colour is pointless.

Mistakes to avoid

• Copying the label out by hand: the barcode has to be scannable, and a parcel with no readable code isn't tracked;
• Putting shiny tape over the barcode: the glare stops it scanning;
• Waiting until you find a printer: the dispatch deadline starts at the sale. It's shown in the order.

And the packaging?
