Vinted title: the formula for a title that gets clicks

The title is the first thing a buyer reads, and one of the places Vinted looks for the words they typed. A good listing title isn't a catchy sentence: it's a list of useful words, in the right order.

The formula: type + brand + detail + colour + size

  • The item type, precisely: “straight-leg jeans” rather than “jeans”, “maxi dress” rather than “dress”.
  • The brand, spelt the way the brand spells it.
  • A detail that sets it apart: fabric, cut, pattern, model.
  • The colour, in everyday words.
  • The size, as shown on the label.

Put the most important words first: in search results, the end of a long title can be cut off.

Title examples, before and after

  • “Nice jumper” → Crew-neck merino wool jumper Uniqlo navy size M
  • “Jeans” → Levi's 501 straight-leg jeans dark wash W30 L32
  • “Summer dress” → Zara floral maxi dress boho size S
  • “Trainers like new” → Adidas Stan Smith trainers white and green UK 6

In each case, the second title answers what the buyer types into search.

The mistakes to avoid

  • a vague title (“Top”, “Clothes bundle”);
  • adjectives nobody searches for: “gorgeous”, “stunning”, “bargain”;
  • CAPITALS, emojis and “!!!”;
  • hashtags in the title — they belong at the end of the description; see which hashtags to use on Vinted;
  • a brand that isn't the item's brand.

Frequently asked questions

What should I put in a Vinted listing title?

The item type, the brand, a distinguishing detail (fabric, cut, model), the colour and the size — the words buyers type into search, most important first.

Should I put the brand in the title?

Yes: it's one of the first words buyers search for. For an unbranded item, use the style or the fabric instead.

Can I change the title after publishing?

Yes, a listing can be edited once it's live. If an item isn't selling, rewriting the title with this formula is one of the first things to try.
