Selling on Vinted and eBay at the same time: how to do it

A Vinted listing that doesn't sell is not necessarily overpriced. It may simply not be in front of the right buyer. Vinted is a feed people scroll; eBay is a search engine people query. Different people, and a different way of looking.

The pieces that deserve a second channel

• Brands people search by name: on eBay the buyer types the brand, the model, the size. An identified piece finds its audience there.
• Dated vintage: a nineties jacket with its original label sells better where people search for an era.
• Trainers and technical pieces: reference, size, condition — everything that can be filtered.
• Whatever has been sitting for three months: the same item, shown to other eyes.

Conversely, a basic worth a few pounds has nothing to gain from travelling: keep it on Vinted.

What changes in the listing

• The title is 80 characters, not 100. Keep the type, brand, colour and size; cut the rest.
• Hashtags do nothing on eBay. Their job is done by item specifics: brand, size, colour, material. Those feed the search filters.
• A wrong specific costs more than a missing one. An invented size or material is a guaranteed return.

The real risk: selling twice

A garment is a one-off. If it is live in two places it can sell twice within the hour, and cancelling an eBay sale counts as a seller defect. The rule fits in one sentence: sold anywhere, withdrawn everywhere, straight away.
