Offers and haggling: sell fast without giving it away
On Vinted, almost nobody pays the listed price without trying their luck. Haggling isn't rude — it's the game. The winning seller is the one who planned their wiggle room BEFORE publishing.
Price with the haggle built in
Add 10-15% to your floor price when you list. An offer comes in at -20%? Counter at -10%: the buyer gets their "win", you get your real price. Flatly declining a fair offer often means losing a buyer who would have taken your counter.
The 3 replies that convert
- Lowball offer: "Thanks for the interest! I can do £X" — always counter, never ignore;
- "Best price?": give a precise number with a small real discount. A vague "make an offer" scares people off;
- Buyer eyeing 2 items: offer a bundle with a visible discount — one parcel instead of two, everyone wins.
When to hold firm
A recent branded piece, listed under a week, with favourites climbing: hold your price. A piece online for two months: the real question isn't margin anymore, it's the space it occupies.
To know your real floor price, you need your real margin: purchase price, fees, postage. Fripilot (from the makers of FriShot) works it out for every sale.
