How to sell well on Vinted: from wardrobe to a listing that sells
On Vinted, two listings for the same jumper can meet opposite fates: one sells in two days, the other sits for a month. The difference almost never comes down to the garment, but to how it's presented. Here's the full journey, from wardrobe to posted parcel.
1. Prep the item before you pick up your phone
A garment that's washed, uncreased and lint-free sells better and photographs better. Use the moment to inspect it in daylight: stain, bobbling, a tired seam. Anything you spot now goes into the listing, and never becomes a dispute.
2. Photos in the right order
The first photo is the only one visible in the feed: the whole garment, flat or worn, in daylight, on a plain background. Then the back, the brand label, the fabric label, a close-up of the material, and every flaw up close. The Vinted photos page sums up how many to add and in what order; the technique is in how to photograph your clothes.
3. A title built for search
Buyers don't type "lovely jumper", they type "Sandro wool jumper M". Item type, brand, colour, material, size: that's the formula in our Vinted title guide.
4. Every field, filled in correctly
The most precise category possible, brand picked from the list, size, condition, colour. Buyers filter: one empty or wrong field and your listing vanishes from filtered results, however good it is otherwise.
5. A description that reassures
Fabric, fit, flat measurements, flaws named ("small bobble under the arm, photo 6"), then a few style keywords. A buyer who finds the answer in the listing buys instead of asking. Use our Vinted description template and the hashtags by style for inspiration.
6. The right price, with room for offers
Look at what comparable items actually sold for, not just what's listed. Then keep a small cushion: on Vinted, lots of buyers make an offer. The full method is in how to price your items.
7. List at the right time
Season first: a coat sells in autumn, not in July. And list in the evening or at the weekend, when buyers are scrolling, rather than late at night.
8. After listing: reply, negotiate, refresh
- Reply to questions quickly: a hesitant buyer is often comparing;
- Faced with a low offer, counter rather than refuse (see offers and negotiation);
- Nothing after a week? Change the first photo and the title before touching the price.
9. Careful shipping, reviews that sell
Ship within a few days of the sale, in clean packaging protected from the rain. A good review reassures buyers of your next listings: that's the virtuous circle of sellers who sell well. The classic traps to avoid are listed in beginner mistakes.
Save time on steps 3 to 6
Title, fields, description and price are the longest part. FriShot prepares them from your photos: you check, you tweak, and you're the one who lists. The settings that make the difference are on sell faster on Vinted. And if you sell regularly, the margin and stock side of the method is in Fripilot's 9 rules (from the makers of FriShot).
