Coats, jumpers, boots: prep for winter now

The golden rule of Vinted selling: sell a season BEFORE it arrives. Coats get searched from late September, not January. Waiting for the first cold snap means arriving when everyone is selling the same thing.

What sells first

• Coats and puffers — autumn's top category. Sought-after brands (The North Face, Carhartt, Barbour) fetch strong prices; a standard coat sells fast when priced honestly;
• Knitwear, especially wool and cashmere: photograph the composition label — that's what justifies the price;
• Boots — clean the soles before shooting, it's the detail everyone checks;
• Scarves, beanies, gloves in bundles of 2-3: small prices, but volume.

The right timing

Mid-September: get everything out, shoot everything, publish steadily. October-November is the peak — answer offers quickly. December: drop prices on what's left; January buyers no longer pay full price.

The winter photo trap

A coat photographed in a heap on a bed loses half its perceived value. Hanger on a door, daylight, one close-up of the fabric and one of the label: four photos, two minutes, and the listing inspires trust.
