Autumn is coming: which pieces to list first
September is when your autumn stock is worth the most. Publishing order matters — here's the wave, first to last.
Weeks 1-2: everyday essentials
Jeans, light jumpers, mid-season jackets, trainers. That's what everyone searches for after the holidays. School bags and kids' clothes, if not done yet — this is the last window.
Weeks 3-4: the big pieces
Wool coats, puffers, boots. Listing a £50 coat in mid-September means selling it at its price; listing it in November means negotiating it. Expensive pieces sell before the cold, not during.
All month: vintage and wool
- Leather and suede jackets — their value climbs from August to November;
- Aran knits, Fair Isle, jacquard jumpers — the words "wool" and "vintage" do the work in your title;
- Barbour, Burberry and other autumn classics — this is their quarter.
And while autumn sells, prepare winter: photograph your ski gear and heavy puffers now, list them in November. Stock organised by season is half the reseller's craft.
